Darkness, she was surrounded by darkness, with only the light of the Chirugai as her guide. She was looking was for him, hoping the insistent pull of the metallic ring was leading her to him. After walking for what seemed like hours, Lara came to a stop and before her stood three different corridors. Three different corridors that could lead her to, or from Kurtis.
She held the Chirugai out towards the corridors, waiting for a response, for a sign, to show her what direction to go. She got none. The pull on the disk stopped and the glow began to fade. Panic rose within her, and she felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand up as she became increasingly aware of the approaching footsteps and distorted growls. Looking at the corridors she quickly darted down the corridor leading straight ahead, pushing her legs as fast as they could go. She was out of ammo and did not feel prepared enough to face one of those human plant hybrid experiments of Eckhardt’s minion without her pistols fully loaded.
She ran, willing her aching legs to go faster, trying desperately to make out shapes in the never-ending darkness. She was breathing heavily, adrenaline pumping through her body at an extreme rate.
Suddenly she ran into something solid, something solid with arms that gripped her and slammed her into a wall, her head smacking the offending object. She let out a groan of pain and instantly began to struggle, until a strong hand wrapped itself around her neck, soon joined by the other.
She was roughly lifted, her feet dangling helplessly in mid air as she tried to pry the strong hands from her neck, gasping for air she couldn’t breathe.
“Why…” Came the low hiss. Lara pulled on the hands again.
“Why Croft?” The voice hissed again. Lara suddenly became aware that the Chirugai, which was now laying on the floor as a result of being ambushed, was glowing. As her eyes adjusted she tried to draw a breath of surprise, but it sounded like a strangled wheeze for air.
“K-Kurtis?” She wheezed.
“Why!” This time he pulled her from the wall; hands still tightly wrapped around her neck and slammed her into the opposite wall. He leaned in close to her face, so close Lara could see the madness raging behind azure eyes. “Why did you leave me down here to die? Why didn’t you come and find me?” He roared before he slammed her against the wall again with great force…
Might not even include that bit in any of it, but I like it nevertheless!
